"Special Olympics O-H-I-O"

by Brookelyn Johnson, - I am a Forensic Science major on the OSU newark campus. I am a senior and graduate in December of 2012. I am a coach for Reynoldsburg Special Olympics and have been for 9 years. I have been a buckeye for all 23 years of my life!!!

This was taken September 29, 2012 at the Special Olympics Bowling qualifier. This is three of my athletes as well as an Ohio State University Student on the far right.

It started out as a simple football cheer. But today, "O-H-I-O" means the whole package: strong athletic traditions, major school spirit, academic achievements, and outreach efforts.

Fans, band members, and even Brutus showed their Buckeye pride outside the Shoe before the Ohio State v. Minnesota game (Oct. 24, 2009).
