Excellence. It’s one of our values and something we strive for each day. We seek excellence in the goals we set, the results we produce and the dedicated service we provide. Our commitment to excellence is what helps us improve people’s lives here at the Medical Center.

Last week, we presented the 2011 Excellence Awards to an outstanding group of faculty and staff. These individuals were nominated by their colleagues and chosen by a panel of previous Excellence Award recipients.

This year’s 28 award recipients demonstrate excellence in patient care, clinical competency and teamwork every day, and I was honored to be part of the ceremony recognizing them. They strengthen the OSU Medical Center every day through their passion, positive attitude and their commitment to excellence.

You can see the complete list of honorees and the announcement that was in the Dispatch on May 8. Please take some time to congratulate this year’s recipients and thank them for the work they do.

In closing, I want to commend each of you for pursuing excellence in all that you do at the Medical Center. On behalf of our patients, our students and the community, a sincere thank you.
