A letter from Dr. Melissa Shivers

Thank you for being part of the Buckeye family!

“Go Bucks!” is something we hear at Ohio State a lot!

Though this phrase is most commonly used in relation to athletics, I often remind students that we are ALL Buckeyes — that each and every student at Ohio State has a cheering section of their own, made up of parents, donors and friends of Ohio State. I love that, in my job, I get to be something like a coach (watch out, Coach Day!).

There are days when I get to celebrate on the sidelines with students, after they have achieved an amazing feat of strength, smarts and will. There are other days when I get to console them after what feels like a devastating fumble in the red zone. Some of the best days are at “practice,” helping students sketch out their game plan for the future.

You can be a part of the cheering section for Buckeye students who need our support by making a gift to the Parents Fund at Ohio State. The Parents Fund is unique in that it strengthens a variety of campus programs that directly benefit students’ health and well-being, career planning, financial education and other essential needs.

Will you join us as we share the Buckeye spirit with students who need our support?

We are Scarlet and Grateful for any gift you may give, and for the important role you play in rooting for every Buckeye’s success.

Here’s to a Scarlet and Great year — O-H!

Go Buckeyes!
