Pelotonia and Campus Campaign
Do gifts to Pelotonia count for participation in Campus Campaign?
Yes, all gifts made by Ohio State employees in support of Pelotonia riders or general gifts made to Pelotonia from July 1 through April 15 count toward Campus Campaign Celebration participation totals reported at the May celebration breakfast.
Can I use payroll deduction to make a gift to Pelotonia?
No, Ohio State employees cannot use payroll deduction to make a gift to Pelotonia due to the “pledge” nature of such commitments. Should the employee cancel the deduction or leave the university, the unpaid portion of the pledge would affect rider support. All gifts to Pelotonia must be “real time” transactions by check or credit card. Please go to www.pelotonia.org to make a gift.
I plan to ride in Pelotonia. Does this count for Campus Campaign?
Any gifts you make to your own ride (or someone else's) for Pelotonia count toward your Campus Campaign participation. If you make a gift to your own ride prior to June 30, you will be included in that fiscal year's Campus Campaign totals. If you make a gift to your own ride on or after July 1, you will be counted in Campus Campaign totals in the new fiscal year. NOTE: The rider registration fee is not considered a gift and does not count toward participation totals.
How do I make gifts to Pelotonia in support of colleagues who are riding?
Please visit www.pelotonia.org. On the right upper side of the website, click the LOGIN/SEARCH bar. Here you can look up riders by last name or peloton name to donate to their ride. Follow the directions to make a donation by either credit card or check.
Checks may be mailed to Pelotonia, 351 W. Nationwide Blvd, Columbus, OH, 43215. Be sure to indicate the first and last name of the rider you are supporting, or rider ID (Example: KK0001) on your check. Please do not mail cash.
My colleagues collected cash in support of my ride. How do I ensure they get credit for Campus Campaign?
Make a detailed list that includes each colleague’s full name, address, city, state, zip code, e-mail - and gift amount. Write a check for the total amount collected. Mail the list and check to Pelotonia, 351 W. Nationwide Blvd., Columbus, OH, 43215. Pelotonia will add each colleague to your list of supporters on your Pelotonia page. If you do not include a list of donors, you will be credited with the gift. Please do not mail cash.
I rode in Pelotonia last year. Why haven’t I received credit for Campus Campaign?
Your participation in Pelotonia does not give you credit unless you made a donation to either your ride or someone’s ride before April 15.
The active phase of Campus Campaign runs from March 1 to April 30. Why does my Pelotonia giving need to be in by April 15 in order to count?
Gift records are sent to the Foundation from Pelotonia offices on a bi-weekly basis, thus creating a two-week delay. While every effort is made to gain information about Pelotonia giving between April 15 and April 30, we cannot guarantee that we will have information regarding gift credit prior to the April 30 deadline for inclusion in Celebration figures.
I plan to volunteer this year/did volunteer last year for Pelotonia. Do I get credit for Campus Campaign?
We appreciate your participation; however, volunteering does not qualify for gift credit unless you make a donation to your volunteer page as a registered volunteer with Pelotonia.
I think Pelotonia is a great event and I want to make a gift but I do not know anyone riding. What should I do?
You can make a general donation to the account of Team Buckeye, Ohio State's super-peloton that supports all Ohio State riders, virtual riders and volunteers participating in Pelotonia. Go to www.pelotonia.org. Click LOGIN/SEARCH in the upper right corner of the home page. Type "Team Buckeye" into the search box to reach the online giving page for Team Buckeye. Click DONATE TO OUR RIDE to make a credit card gift via the secure server.
I have questions not covered here. Who should I contact?
Thanks for supporting Pelotonia and the Ohio State Campus Campaign!
