Growing up in central Ohio, Aaron always thought of Ohio State as the perfect school for him and attending Newark’s campus allows him to remain close to home. Newark’s smaller size, inclusivity, and professor to student ratio attracted Aaron, since he came from a larger high school. Going to a branch campus was also more affordable; Aaron was very excited when he received his scholarships for this year.
“I was so surprised and thankful when I saw I received a major scholarship. I immediately told my parents about it and they were so happy for me. I just wanted to know who to thank,” Aaron exclaimed.
Aaron aims to have a well-balanced academic and social life so he can take care of his mental health. He is working on obtaining his associate’s degree at the end of this school year and then his bachelor’s degree. He plans to get his master’s degree (“hopefully at Ohio State”) and go to medical school, with dreams of becoming a pediatrician.
With such a long academic journey ahead, Aaron is thankful for any and all financial support he receives. He says that when graduation comes, it’ll be a reward knowing that the support was worthwhile.
Aaron's Activities: Founder and President of award-winning African Student Association, Resident Advisor (RA), Honors student, Treasurer of the Campus Activities Board, HOPE Club, and Active Minds and Student Cultural Council member. Works as a Campus Buckeye Tour Guide and Student Lead at the Table of Contents (Dining), and a member of the 2024 Homecoming Court.
